Day one's post is -------------> here!
Yay!!! Embarkation Day!!! We were so excited that Justin and I got up way to early.. 6 am... -_- but Justin did need to run to a store and pick up a jacket. He may have left it at home. He was back in time from breakfast around 7 am. We ate at the hotel, spent a few minutes redistributed our bags and hopped on the shuttle at 9 am. Since we were able to upgrade to the suite, we were able to take advantage of the suite perks which includes being one of the first people on the ship! Because of the storm the night before, Carnival wouldn't let us board as early as they normally do. They were dealing with some flooding and coming in late because of the storm. We didn't mind though, we got to wait in the captain's lounge away from the wind and chilliness. After we got checked in and got our Sign and Sail cards, we walked over to the Queen Mary so Jack could see the inside of the ship and really take in all the Queen Mary as to offer.
It started to rain while we were out on the deck |
Yeah, I was done.. |
Thanks for the candid shot Justin |
We had about two hours to wait until we were allowed to get on the ship. We spent 90 minutes looking and touring the Queen Mary. We spent the last 30 minutes sitting in the captain's lounge getting our last little bits of electrons in.
nope not windy at all |
We promptly went to lunch to see that only the buffet was just opening up but the new Guy Fieri's Burgers was open as was the Blue Iguana Mexican Grill. Jacqueline got her shrimp burrito and Justin and I got burgers.
After lunch we went to our room to drop off what we had carried on the ship. We met our wondering stewardess, May. She was extremely helpful especially when Jack was getting her sea legs.
Our balcony.. Perfect for two people |
We found Camp Ocean after touring our room and got Jacqueline all signed in and ready to come and go as she pleases.
We toured the ship next, showing Jacqueline the different location on the ship she would need to know; our dinning room, the adult only section, the lido deck, etc. We always stop and do the spa tour and put our name in the raffle. After the spa tour, I made an appointment to get my first pedicure done! I was lucky enough to get it right before the muster drill that day! Perfect way to start my vacation.
