Christmas!

We spent Christmas at home because we didn't know if Justin would need to work Christmas if he got a job. We he did get a job but he doesn't start it till the new year. We also had a few doctors appointments that needed to be done during the break so we were glad we decided to stay home. Jen and BJ (Justin's sister and her husband) came and stayed a night with us on their way to Salt Lake. Its a long drive from Mesa! And then Justin's parents came down as well to spend a few days with us.
I kept my family's tradition of going to a Christmas Eve service. I chose to go to a Presbyterian. Justin was still sick and coughing all the time so I went by myself. We had a simple a lunch with tons little leftovers. *good thing we are good at planning meals out*  We made a small ham, rolls, baked potatoes and cheesy broccoli. And Justin grudgingly very nicely let us eat his chocolate birthday cake for our dessert.
Here are some pictures... Nothing too excting, just a normal low key Christmas in the Doyle's household.

Buffy always looks cute in her bows :)
Unwrapping presents.. I know I look so awake!
Manny and his sweater! Yeah he was thrilled to put that thing on
Yay.. finally a decent sized pizza cutter!
 Buffy being Buffy
They opened up their present. Bacon flavored treats! Even Jack wanted to get in!

Our "charlie brown" fake Christmas tree
 Buffy.... Silly Girl

Poor Manny trapped in the chair covered  in paper

My first official concert!

Last Friday I got to conduct my first Winter Christmas concert. You can call it a Winter concert but we  all know it's a Christmas concert! I conducted my beginning and advance band. It was tons of fun and can't wait to do another concert later in the year :)

I guess I had to introduce myself. Of course the I couldn't get the mic to work so I yelled over the crowd! I mean parents totally understand proper concert etiquette that they can talk the entire time through a concert
Yes.. that it my little tiny beginning band. Lots of recruiting next year
And my advance band.. also tiny!

Don't laugh at my triangle clip. Mine didn't show up in time!

Yes that is yarn and a clothes pin :) And a necklace one of my little kindergarten student gave me after the concert

The last Bajio and our St George trip!

Justin and I finally found a Bajio that has not been turned into a Costa Vida.. Delicious Gross! I would eat a Bajio any day over Costa Vida!!

Justin and I take our bi-weekly trip to St George and Polygamous R' Us Costco! Every time we go.. there's at least 5 polygamous people there. How can I tell.. Well they look like this!

We ended our Saturday trip grabbing supplies to make our own air freshener.. so Liquor store, Big Lots and Walmart!

MYO Air Freshener:
1/4 cup Vodka
2 1/2- 3 1/2 cups water
1 teaspoon essential oil of your choise

1) Mix all in a spray bottle and enjoy :)

So we had to run to the liquor store to grab vodka since you know we always keep it on hand *totally*  and I found this

Hey.. everyone needs Vampire Wine!!

Justin was off doing who knows what.. I think looking for a certain wine from a company near where he lives! And of course this is all happening the last 10 minutes the store is open. Then we ran off to Big Lots to attempt to find some essential oils and decent sized spray bottles... Of course there was none. But I did find this!

Giant Elvis Guitars filled with Popcorn
                                                                             FTW!!

Yeah.. ran to walmart and got everything I needed!

And just to throw it out there from one of my favorite South Park episode! There is really a "Big Jim"

23 Adult Truths

I know.. I know.. I totally stole this from Facebook, but it makes me laugh every single time! I'm only 24 and yeah all of these are true even to me and I guess Justin too :)

  1. Sometimes I’ll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.
  2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize that you’re wrong.
  3. I totally take back all those times I didn’t want to nap when I was younger.
  4. There is a great need for a sarcasm font.
  5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?
  6. Was learning cursive really necessary?
  7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5.  I’m pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.
  8. Obituaries would  be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.
  9. I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t at least kind-of tired.
  10. Bad decisions make good stories.
  11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you konw that you just aren’t going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.
  12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray?  I don’t want to have to restart my collection… again.
  13. I’m always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.
  14. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.
  15. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.
  16. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Light than Kay.
  17. I wish Google Maps had an “Avoid Ghetto” routing option.
  18. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.
  19. How many times is it appropriate to say “What?” before you  just nod and smile because you didn’t hear a word they said?
  20. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front.  Stay strong, brothers and sisters!
  21. Shirts get dirty.  Underwear get dirty.  Pants?  Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.
  22. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey ~ but I’d bet everyone can find the snooze button from 3 feet away in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time.
  23. The first testicular guard, the “Cup”, was used in Hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1974.  That means it only took 100 years for ment to realize that their brain is also important.

Thanksgiving!!

Justin and I traveled to Justin's home town to have Thanksgiving with Justin's parents and family. Justin though decided that he wanted to drive so he could take the dogs and the little baby with him and he *cough cough* wanted to stay a few extra days in California. I flew from Vegas so I could get there faster and leave when I needed to so I could go back to work.

For the past few weeks, Justin's been putting together the menu for Thanksgiving and Justin and I cooked it.

Justin getting all the recipes ready

Yeah... There's me cooking the sausage and veggies for the stuffing

 Intense.. I know!!

There we are! Can you totally tell I'm sucking on a Lindt Chocolate Ball!

Almost all done!

We made turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes (My recipe :P ), glazed carrots, green beans, stuffing, rolls, cranberry jello salad, pistachio salad and of course pies galore!

                                                                     Yay Turkey!

Most of the food.. It continued around the counter

Then we finally all sat down and enjoyed a great dinner!

Flattering picture... I know..

But it was all worth it!

We've got to have the goof picture!

Ok.. one good one!

All of us together!
