Day 3 is ------------------> here!
Our third day on the cruise was our stop at Catalina Island. Because of how Catalina Island is set up, the passengers have to be tendered in to the dock. The tenders started really early, 7:30 am! Yuck! That's way to early on vacation, but we were up the early. Because we had a excursion planned and it started after 9 am we were asked to go to a certain location on the ship so we could get out before the others that were just exploring the ship. We decided that we would get room service breakfast since we wouldn't have time to sit in the dinning room. Justin ordered his 5943 cartoons of yogurt and two crescent rolls, Jacqueline got her cereal and some apple juice, and I got some Cheerios, plain yogurt, and a banana.
We waited in line for the tender and was able to get on at 9 am. The tender took about 10 minutes to get to the dock. Oh my goodness... Catalina is beautiful!
Our excursion didn't start until 11:45 so we started walking around the island. We came across a playground and we let Jack get her wiggles out before we kept walking around
I think Justin and I were just grateful that we were able to turn off airplane mode on our phones and answer texts and emails :) Thank you for still being in California.
Justin wanted to walk all the way to the casino to see if we could get in a tour.
And they wanted people to pay to be shuttled down there... silly people. The casino was closed and they wanted you to pay for a tour.. again silly people! We walked along the rocks and looked for scuba divers.
Yay! We found some! |
We tried... she didn't quite get it. |
After we walked around the rocks we walked back to the excursion point and looked through the shops
On the way back to the shops we stopped at one of the beaches so Jack could say that she got to step on a real beach and into the Pacific Ocean.
Jack wanted to stop at the candy shop so we decided that we would get some ice cream too! We all need something yummy while we are on vacation :)
We surprised Jacqueline with the excursion. We took a semi submersible submarine and got a chance to look at all the fish in Catalina. With my fear of fish I didn't freak out too much :)
This was the boat we took out! They chummed the water with fish food so we could see all the fish! |
This is when I started freaking out... when they were literally pressed on the glass. |
Jack loved it!!! The whole excursion was about 45 minutes. Afterwards we walked over to the other side of the pier and we saw a seal!
We went on the ship for lunch around 2:30 and Jacqueline went back to the kids club to hang out with her friends. Justin and I hung out on our balcony and read and slept. Seriously.. we were so spoiled.
Riding back on the tender |
We got ready for dinner, asked for table 209 and was able to get in with Kay and Eduardo again!
my flat bread starter |
Jack's shrimp bisque |
My mango bisque Apparently I didn't get Justin's starter :( |
Justin got the seafood pasta |
and some rice noodles |
Jack got some fish?? Maybe?? Probably |
I got the tenderloin... it was slightly over cooked.. |
Seriously... this is yummy too! I'm sure I gained 23 pounds eating these! |
This is Kay and Jack racing to find words in the word search |
The duck that Eduardo made for her! |
After dinner, Jack went back to the Kids Camp and stayed as late as she could. Justin and I sat and talked for a while in the dinning room and then back to our balcony.
May left us a dinosaur!
Tomorrow is Ensenada!!
