We arrived in Reno around 8:30 am! One thing about the train is we were able to check in bags for free and they arrived with in 5 minutes. We quickly walked up to the street and waited for the rental car. Jaybird was extremely excited because a truck came a picked us up. No that wasn't our car but we worked out a deal with the rental place and kept the truck... much more comfortable for us!
We stopped at the store a picked up some food for the house and got us some more breakfast than yogurt and muffins. We then started the 45 minute trip up the mountain to Lake Tahoe. She feel asleep in the car... child don't worry we all wanted to too! Gave her a tour of the house and ate some lunch and just kept an easy day.
We did take her to one of the beaches at Lake Tahoe! She told me it was her first time to the beach... and she wanted to go swimming in the lake... in February.. in Lake Tahoe.. in the melted snow! No we didn't let her but she did get up to her knees in the water. "But mooooooom.. it's warm to me"
No Jaybird... it isn't warm to any one, even in the summer! :)
After the beach we went back to the house and ate dinner (Her favorite, spaghetti and meatballs).
We tried to keep her same schedule (mountain standard time) in Tahoe... which meant we were reading by 7 pm and her in bed by 7:30 :) That meant more free time for Mom and Dad!
I know it was a boring day, but we needed to keep it easier for her so she could ease into the new situation. Tomorrow will be better I promise :)
