Lake Tahoe 2015 (Pre-trip)

As I'm sure you all have guessed, life has been crazy since our family went from two to three. Ive tried to keep the social media world updated through Instagram and posting pictures.

We were placed with a sweet 10 year old girl a day before Thanksgiving and she has been in our care ever since. She has her ups and downs but Justin and I are slowly working with her to help her normalize. She has been making huge strides with the combination of therapy, meds, and lots of support from everyone in her life!
I am trying to remember to get social media friendly pictures of her.. Please bear with me :) Thanks!

Thanksgiving
Jaybird came to us the weekend before Thanksgiving for "babysitting" and we told her how Justin works in the hospital at the kitchen and how for Holidays, if he has to work, then we got and eat those meals with him. She was prepared when Thanksgiving did come around for us to eat somewhere besides at home when she officially moved in with us. Quinten and Leslie both came down from Provo to have Thanksgiving with Ryan (Walter) and my family.

Very manly carrying Jaybirds stuffed animals.

That night my siblings and I braved Walmart and did some Black Friday shopping

And then we braved Denny's for a late dinner.

Justin's Birthday & Christmas

Justin is so lucky to have his birthday 5 days before Christmas. I'm grateful that his mom always made it a special day for him and we continue that tradition. Jaybird picked bowling for Dad and we went out that morning and bought him an ice cream birthday cake from DQ. You know, I'm cool like that and didn't want to make it. Uncle Ryan came with us bowling. We were lucky enough to get free tickets from Justin's work to see a movie that morning. Justin had to work :( but Jaybird and I went and enjoyed the time together.

Apparently Manny thinks he's getting some too.

Justin also had to work Christmas Eve so I took her swimming (So she would be tired and fall asleep that night). The days before she was busy wrapping presents for her friends and family. We went to a Christmas Eve service to follow the tradition of my family. We went to 3 Christmas parties in December and just had so much fun!

We were ready for Christmas

We were sneaky and changed her clock back a few hours so we could sleep in :) Yeah, not sorry! But she had an amazing Christmas. She could not believe that she had received that many presents from people. I really wish I could show you her face on that morning, but it was one of pure happiness!

Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day was when we told her that we were leaving the next day to go on vacation. We didn't hide the trip from her but we didn't tell her either. We wanted her to focus on her school work then be overly excited for the trip.
Justin got us some chocolate covered strawberries!

Jaybird got some My Little Ponies from Grandma Doyle

Her card and ticket from us.
She also got her hair cut on Valentine's day. It needed to be done so badly and it was the only day that week we could fit it in. The ever amazing Daniel did her hair!!

She told us later that it was her first time getting her hair cut in a regular salon! Child that's where you will be from now on :) It took me a while to find a good hair stylist when I moved here and I'm sticking with him (and my entire family) :)

Jaybird is a very sweet girl, extremely smart, and she's turning into a beautiful girl! She is still very much a tween! She loves playing in the park, playing on the wii, and just moving.

She also loves to swim! Every chance we get, we try to go and let her get some energy out!

Apparently I pulled off the pictures with Grandpa only.. Sorry! But we have lots of non-social media appropriate ones.

She has been such a blessing to have in our house!! Ok I promise next one will be the trip!!
