After almost a year long wait (she was 8 days shy of a year) with us, we finally adopted our daughter today! Which means.. yay!! She is officially Justin's and mine and we can show her face and finally tell you her name and all that jazz!
So world I present to you:
Jacqueline N.J. Doyle
June 11, 2004
Adopted Nov 17, 2015
Tada! I could say something cliche like "She's finally here" but that wouldn't fit this situation. To be honest the only thing that's different is she is officially Justin's and mine :) She has been my child since the moment she entered our house and I've never doubted it. She is such a sweetheart with a huge heart. She is always very caring and wants everyone to be happy around her. This past weekend, the adoption was all she could think about. She would randomly pop in and say Tuesday.. tuesday.. is it tuesday yet so I can get adopted? On Sunday, she was telling everyone how Tuesday was her day!
She did super fantastic in court today. She sat very quietly with her lawyer, listening to what everyone had to say about her growth since she's been in our house. I don't think anyone in that court room had any doubt she is right where she needs to be! Adoption was very quick and happy. (I think the judge thought of it like our lawyer.. This is a happy event and a break from the negativity that normally surrounds lawyers and courts and judges) We all signed out life away, DCFS signed her over, and the judge ruled that she was to be adopted by us. The hardest questions was me telling the judge when and where we were married and was I over 18 (Yeah... I think we are)
Uncle Ryan (Walter) and her primary teacher (Who works with DCFS) came to see the adoption. She was also really lucky to have all the people she became friends with at the DCFS office.
After we drive back to Cedar, she decided that she wanted to eat at the Chinese Buffet.. Whatever child! This is your day and your choice!
What is she doing right now?? Just enjoying the day off of school and getting her chores done :)
Since she's finally mine, I can upload all those lovely pictures of her face from the past year. So enjoy the overload of Jacqueline, Enjoy the transformation!
I will try to do my best to do this in chronological order :)
