Mexico Cruise - Thursday

Justin and I finally went on an adult vacation! We took a 3 night cruise on the Carnival Imagination to Ensenada, Mexico. We loved every minute of it!
Wednesday- Travel to Long Beach
Thursday- Leave Long Beach
Friday- Ensenada
Saturday- At Sea
Sunday- Arrive at Long Beach/Travel back home
To make it easier for everyone, I'm going to break down the blog post by days. Yay!
Wednesday's blog post is -------> Here!

Thursday was Embarkation Day!

We stayed at the Quality Inn in Long Beach because they had a reasonable Park and Cruise package. We really didn't feel like paying $17 a day to park at the pier and pay for a hotel. We slept in, ate breakfast at the hotel, and took the shuttle over to the pier. We arrived at the pier around 10:30 because we wanted time to sit and enjoy the view.
There she is!

The industrial side of the port! I really liked watching this side!

We purchased the Faster To The Fun package which allowed us to check in early and more quickly. We started the check in process at 11 and we were given a priority pass that allowed us to get on the ship as soon as it was cleaned. We were able to go through security at 11:30 and we were on the ship by 11:45 and eating lunch!

Better view of the Queen Mary.

Waiting to go through security

My card!

They were waiting for lunch too!

After lunch we were able to get into our room and unpack (thank you faster to the fun!) After we unpacked we explored the ship before all the mass of people came.

And my orange rind

We started at the top of the ship at worked our way up down so we became familiar with the ship.
We found the Mini Golf!

View from the top of the ship.

Giant chess set. Too bad Justin didn't know how to play :(

We found the adult only area and we relaxed :)

The ginger needs a giant sun hat!

I did get sea sick, but these amazing bands kept my tummy safe. I still felt a little dizzy but not yucky.

My boys on the Disneyland trip found a machine like this, except for it had kiddie prizes. The one on the ship at money!

We found a spot at the top of the ship to take off from the port at 5.
After we got far enough away, we found a spot to relax until dinner time. We quickly changed into something more appropriate for the dining room and walked right in. We didn't want to see any shows the night before, so the dining room was empty.
The breeze really helped me when I got dizzy and sick.

Can you tell I don't feel 100%

The menu for the first dinner

Bread Basket

I got the pear and bleu cheese flat bread

Justin got the duck potstickers

Justin got the fish dish (ewww.. I hate fish)

I got the flat iron steak

I wanted a cheese plate for desser

And we both had to try the famous melting chocolate cake. Sorry I got too excited before I took a picture.

After dinner we tried the Taste Bar and they were serving food from the Blue Iguana in SLC.

That night I wanted to do something that Justin has never done... went to a club. I, Debbie Doyle, got Justin to go to a club and dance with me. Sorry I didn't get any pictures; I was having too much fun dancing with Justin.

At 11:00 we headed to the comedy club to watch the comedian there, but I was so sea sick at the time that I went back to the room and went to bed. Too much excitement for one day. We went to bed around 11:30 so we could get ready for our day in Ensenada!

Mexico Cruise - Wednesday

Justin and I finally went on an adult vacation! We took a 3 night cruise on the Carnival Imagination to Ensenada, Mexico. We loved every minute of it!

Wednesday- Travel to Long Beach
Thursday- Leave Long Beach
Friday- Ensenada
Saturday- At Sea
Sunday- Arrive at Long Beach/Travel back home

To make it easier for everyone, I'm going to break down the blog post by days. Yay!

Justin and I left Wednesday afternoon to headed down to Long Beach. We wanted to get there a day early so we knew that we would make the ship on time, and start our vacation a day early by spending the night at the Long Beach Pier.

If anyone has driven the path from southern Utah to southern California... It looks like this most of the way. Woohoo... Justin and I had fun singing in the car, and catching up on podcasts.

Since we were passing Vegas, we had to stop at Dunkin Donuts; a little piece of home :)

I seem to forget to take a picture before I eat it!

One of the best places to stop at in the drive is the Mad Greek in Primm or Baker. Justin loves to stop there and pick up his favorite food, a gyro! I wasn't super hungry at the time, so I got a pita and some hummus. It was so delicious! If you make that trip on I-15, I highly suggest stopping and enjoying some great Greek food!

sorry for the fuzzy picture :(

Justin loves it!

We pulled into Long Beach the hotel around 5:30 and hopped on the public transportation to head to the pier. We weren't hungry right away so we walked around and looked at the boats.

It was a "romance" dinner cruise

The water was showing wave patterns. It was really cool to watch it.

We saw the Queen Mary off in the distance.

And I got my foot in the sand!

The pier had a Ferris wheel and I really wanted to go on it. I convinced Justin to go and it turned out we were the only ones on the Ferris wheel at the time. Granted it was Wednesday night and there was a "taste of Long Beach" thing going on that we didn't know about; but it was fun going by our selves.

Justin said I looked really happy to be on it. I love Ferris wheels!

The view from the top!

Had to get the kissy picture!

We got an extra long ride since we were the only ones on it! Yay! Justin told me that this was the first Ferris wheel that he's ever been on (without a cage. Disneyland's doesn't count.) After the Ferris wheel we ate at California Pizza Kitchen... another thing we miss! We don't make i to Salt Lake as often as we would like. Slow night, and they were training a few new people, so the service was slow, but still worth it!

We were so tired that I didn't get any more pictures but we tried their new flat breads. We need one closer so we could eat more!
We headed back to the bus after dinner and went to bed to get ready for our embarkation day!

Memoral Day

I am so thankful for Memorial Day!! It's a day that we can take a remember those who gave everything for the freedoms that we enjoy in the country we live in! Because it was Memorial Day though, I got a day off from work (Thank goodness), but Justin needed to work at the hospital. I slept in and met up with Justin for lunch during his break.

My Grandpa!

I gave the doggies a bath outside since it was super warm and Manny felt it necessary to sit down, smack dab in the middle, of a pile of dirt as soon as I shampooed him.

Buffy decided that she needed to sit right in the middle of my legs as I blow dried her. Thanks Buff!

After lunch Buffy and I wanted to go sun bathing. I need the freckles to come out on my upper arm and I also needed some vitamin D :)

I love Buffy's sun bathing position

When Justin got home from work, Ryan came over and we took the dogs for a walk in the canyon!

It was so hot, we were trying to make her drink from the drinking fountain. She wouldn't have it!

Running on the path

and into the shade!

I live in a pretty place!

Yay Dirt!

We found a lizard :)

Yay! We earned our red feet!

And a deer leg!

We went back home and grilled some sausages and hot dogs and watched a movie with Ryan! And we wore out the puppies so much that they crashed on the couch.
